In general, before we collect any personal data from you, we will notify you of the purposes for which your personal data may be collected, used and disclosed, as well as obtain consent for the intended purposes If you have any questions on this policy or in relation to how SHRM manages, protects and/or processes your personal data, please contact our Data Protection Officer via email: DPO@shrm.edu.sg Purpose for the Collection, Use & Disclosure of Personal Data Depending on your relationship with SHRM, the personal data which we collect from you may be used and/or disclosed for the following purposes: Student Evaluating your application to be a student with us; Administering and managing your relationship as our student, including candidature matters, scholarships, awards, fees, your achievements, your degree or certification, placements, secondments or internships with external organisations; Dealing with Student Experience activities. “Student Experience” refers to activities, (e.g. festival celebrations, graduation ceremonies, orientation and student group camps, conferences, programmes, student benefit activities) which may be provided by SHRM to enhance or enrich your life as a student with us; Alumnus Maintaining your relationship as our alumni, including informing you of services available to alumni, and organising, facilitating and notifying you of alumni events and programmes and providing you with SHRM newsletter/publications that are for alumni; Employee Evaluating your application to be an employee with us; Administering and managing your relationship as our employee; Dealing with and/or administering employment benefits and other employee welfare programs; Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties Disclosure Permitted By Statutory Exemption under the Act SHRM will not disclose your personal data to any third parties without first obtaining your consent permitting us to do so or unless any such disclosure is permitted under any of the statutory exemptions under the Act, e.g. the disclosure is required by law; or is necessary for any investigation or proceedings the purpose of such disclosure is clearly in your interests and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way; the disclosure is necessary to respond to an emergency that threatens the life, health or safety of yourself or another individual. Request for Access, Correction and/or Withdrawal of Personal Data Subject to certain exceptions in the Act, you may request to review and update the personal data currently in our possession or withdraw your consent for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data in our possession. Please submit your request to Data Protection Officer at DPO@shrm.edu.sg. Administration and Management of Personal Data SHRM will take appropriate measures to keep your personal data accurate, complete and updated. SHRM will also take reasonable efforts to take appropriate preventive measures to ensure that your personal data is adequately protected and secured.
