Payment of Application Fees
  • Application Fees are paid by students at the point of applying for a place in a Course offered by SHRM.
  • Application Fees are made payable directly to SHRM.
  • Application Fees are non-refundable and not required to be protected by Fee Protection Scheme (FPS).

Payment of Course Fees

  • Course Fees includes Tuition Fees and Non-Tuition Fees for a Course.
  • In general, SHRM collects Course Fees in 6 monthly installments.
  • Course Fees, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST), are protected by Fee Protection Scheme (FPS).
  • All students studying at SHRM will have its Course Fees protected.
  • No agents shall collect Course Fees on behalf of SHRM.
  • No Course Fees shall be collected prior to the signing of Student Contract.
  • As a general rule, international students only sign the Student Contract upon arrival at SHRM.  Therefore no Course Fees will be collected until student arrives at SHRM.
  • SHRM shall collect Course Fees based on the following Fee Protection Scheme (FPS):

FPS in the Form of Insurance

SHRM will purchase insurance from the list of CPE-approved FPS providers for all students enrolled to ensure protection of the students’ fees. Under the insurance scheme, SHRM is allowed to collect the Course Fees due from the students directly. SHRM shall purchase insurance on the same day of receipt of the fees from the student. The insurance coverage shall commence from the date of payment of the fees till the due date of the next payment or the course end date, whichever is earlier.

  • Students must be notified of the purchase of the insurance to protect the total fees paid.
  • All amount paid by the students must be insured and clearly stated on the Certificate of Insurance (COI).
  • For HSBC Insurance and Lonpac Insurance - the original COI will be emailed to the students email address provided. The original COI shall also be printed by SHRM and given to the students.
  • Inform students that they are required to retain the original copy of the COI;
    • FPS in the Form of ESCROW

    Under the Escrow scheme, SHRM will not receive any fees from the students. All students will pay their fees directly to the CPE-appointed banks and the bank will act as a trustee and disburse the fees on a regular basis to SHRM.
    Under the Escrow scheme, PEI shall:

    • Advise the student on the total chargeable fees (including miscellaneous fees) and the payment schedule.
    • Advise the student on how to make payment to the bank directly using the escrow payment voucher issued by the PEI.

    Upon receiving the letter of acceptance from the student, the PEI shall also ensure that the following are adhered to:

    • Prepare the Student Escrow Confirmation22 (SEC) and send it to the bank.
    • The bank will send an Acknowledge Slip (AS) to the PEI upon the confirmation of the successful opening of the Student Escrow account.
    • Upon receipt of the AS, the PEI will prepare the payment Voucher23 (PV) and send both the SEC and PV to inform the student of the successful opening of the escrow account as well as the payment schedule;
    • The Student will pay to the bank directly according to the Payment voucher issued by the PEI;
    • The Bank will issue an AS upon receiving the Student’s scheduled payments.
 

Payment of Miscellaneous Fees

  • Miscellaneous Fees are non-standard fees which a student may incur. It is chargeable as and when required. 
  • Miscellaneous Fees are paid directly to SHRM.
  • With the exception of Accommodation Fees, Miscellaneous Fees are not protected by Fee Protection Scheme (FPS).
  • Students who opt to stay at the school’s hostel will have their hostel fees paid protected by Fee Protection Scheme (FPS).
