Emphasis |
SHRM graduates are fully functional in all aspects of the hospitality industry upon graduation. We emphasise on providing students with a comprehensive set of practical and management skills so that graduates may be deployed in any division of the hospitality industry. At the same time, graduates are armed with extensive management knowledge to assist them in their career advancements. |
| |
Academic Development |
Our programmes are designed as a hybrid system that merges the practicality of competency-based components coupled with academic works. As such, students benefit from the best of both models. The competency-based training enables students to be effective in the functional aspect of the hospitality industry. This gives our students an edge at being able to quickly pick up and contribute right from the start when they join the industry.
At the same time, the academic components nurture them into becoming effective managers when they advance in their professional careers. This forms the classroom-based learning where students are taught the various management models, concepts and approaches to problem-solving. |
| |
Holistic Development |
For the hospitality industry, having the necessary knowledge and skills is insufficient. SHRM instils in our students personal discipline, good grooming practices and a spirit of ongoing personal development in leadership, the arts and other interests. |
| |
Programme Rigour |
Our intensive programmes provide up to 30 hours a week of instruction. The BA (Hons) Degree can be completed in 3 years which corresponds to the international standard of top universities worldwide. The two-year advanced diploma programme gives students the complete functional industry skills and management knowledge. The final year top-up degree facilitates students to apply knowledge gained from year 1 and 2 via a series of problem solving and research modules. |
| |
Mentors |
The moment one becomes a SHRMian, a mentor who is a faculty member, shall be assigned to assist the student in his or her journey of learning and discovery at SHRM. The mentor will advise students on issues they may face during their course of study with us. For international students who have just arrived in Singapore, the mentor will assist them to cope with the new environment and settle in promptly so that they may concentrate on their studies. |
| |
Academic Faculty |
The academic faculty of SHRM is made up of professionals from various countries with solid practical industry experience and strong academic credentials.
Our faculty members are selectively chosen, passionate in teaching and able to succinctly impart theory and skills. All staff participate in our in-house development programs to stay contemporary with industry developments. |
