August 11: A Partnership Sealed With a Touch of Swiss SHRM College is happy to announce its partnership with Swiss College of Hospitality Management Lenk (SHML), Switzerland’s first boutique hotel school. SHML’s vision is ‘to establish and consolidate a Hotel Management College, driven by Professional Hoteliers to influence and propel hospitality education for future generations’. Having the same heart beat and pursuit for excellence in hospitality industry, SHRM College sealed a partnership with SHML, Switzerland’s first boutique hotel resort. SHML was started by distinguished hospitality personalities, who have made their mark in the industry. Aside from excellent academic credentials, they also have overwhelming years of experience working for and with well-known hotels all around the world. SHRM College is delighted to be the sister campus of SHML. SHRM’s students who are interested in enhancing their hospitality skills with a wider global perspective have the opportunity to study in SHML via an exchange programme or a short study tour. This programme seeks to develop and prepare students for a promising hospitality career, based on the operating philosophies of luxury international boutique hotels and resorts. This partnership brings fun, experience, and learning to an extremely different level!

Mar 11: Taman Jurong Scholarship Award Ceremony SHRM provides annual scholarship awards to deserving students residing in Taman Jurong constituency. This year, two scholarship awards for 100% course fee waiver was given to Ms. Cynthia Ong and Mr. Chia Kah Fai from from Yuan Ching Secondary School.

Taman Jurong Scholarship Award Ceremony SHRM provides annual scholarship awards to deserving students residing in Taman Jurong constituency. This year, two scholarship awards for 100% tuition fee waiver was given to Ms. Sherlyn Choo from Yuan Ching Secondary School and Mr. Ang Wee Kang from Jurong Secondary School.


Hawaii Night organised by Intakes 1 & 2 A Hawaiian-themed party organised by students for students. The party took place at the campus training restaurant and Al Fresco area. The evening started with an outdoor team-building games followed by an Al Fresco buffet dinner prepared by students. The night ended with a dance party right in the training restaurant.

Industry Visit: Genting Highlands, Malaysia Students travelled to Genting Highlands, Malasysia for a three-day industry visit. Students were briefed by the various department managers on the operations of the 6,000 rooms First World Hotel. Tours to back-end operations were also conducted for students to have an understanding of the scale of background work required to operate a 6,000 room hotel

Industry Visit: Lawry's The Prime Rib Students were given a presentation of the restaurant's history and distinct servince culture by the management followed a by sampling of the food offered by the restaurant.

Industry Visit: The Marmalade Group A visit to the commercail kitchen of the group where students were given an insight on the heart of the Group's pastry production operation. The commercial kitchen supplies pastries to all the Group's restaurant outlets.

Team Building Activities: Sentosa Games A day at Sentosa for student team-building activities and treasure hunt.

Deeparaya Night: Student Party A student party in celebration of Deepavali and Hari Raya Pausa 2008
