Upon completion of the SHRM Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management, you can progress to the BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management (awarded by the University of Wolverhampton) in Singapore. You can also opt to progress to U.K., Australia, Ireland or any other country for the completion of your degree.

You are encouraged to seek advice from your class mentor or approach the SHRM Academic Office for assistance. The academic department will assist you in applying for your progression into a degree programme. This service is provided free-of-charge to graduating students or graduates.

Please check with the Academic Office for the various universities and programmes that SHRM already has formal articulation arrangements.

If the school does not have formal articulation with your university of choice, our Academic Office can assist in making arrangements for credit exemptions. Exemptions for Universities with that SHRM has no formal articulation with are assessed on a case-to-case basis.

Study in United Kingdom FAQ:

  1. What are the term dates for British institutions?
    The British academic year usually begins in either January or September. Some courses are available throughout the year for example English Language.
  2. How to apply for an on-campus transfer to the UK and when do I start my course?
    You should submit an application form for each institution with a complete set of certified transcripts. Students are encouraged to apply at least 2 - 3 months in advance to provide sufficient time to process the student visa.
  3. How much credit exemptions will I get?
    This will depend on the university and the grades achieved in your studies. Generally, 1 - 2 years of exemption are given depending on the completed level of studies.
  4. Is there a ranking of UK universities?
    No. There is no official ranking of UK universities. However, several official rankings for teaching excellence can be found.
  5. How much does it cost to study in the UK?
    Most courses cost between 7000GBP - 8,000GBP for arts or business courses. Science courses range from 9000GBP - 10,800GBP. Living expenses are between 600GBP and 1,000GBP per month.

    The Australian academic year usually begins in either February or July. Some courses are available throughout the year.

  4. Is there a ranking of Australian universities?
    No. There is no official ranking of Australian universities.
  5. How much does it cost to study in Australia?
    Most courses cost between A$14,000 and A$18,000. Living expenses are between A$800 - A$1,500 per month.

 

SHRM actively develops close links with industry professionals. These links are of direct benefit to our students as they help to ensure the contemporary relevance of the course structure and content. Employers in the hospitality industry are looking for people who have specialist knowledge, management and interpersonal skills.  The courses are specifically designed to ensure that graduates will be highly employable in this dynamic industry.

Upon completion of the respective hospitality programmes, the Industry Liaison department will arrange for interview sessions between graduates and employers.  Students may be offered six-month internships or full-time career placements.  There will be résumé and interview workshops to prepare you for the interview.

The success of internships or career placements is dependent on the interview with the attachment company or prospective employer. It is also subject to approval by the relevant authorities in Singapore.
